News From Around the World

It appears that the 4th of July fireworks presentations at the theme parks will be scaled back this year. WDW Magic is reporting that the Magic Kingdom will have it's "Celebrate America" fireworks show on the 4th (with no July 3 showing, as usual) and the Disney Studios will present only the usual nighttime showing of Fantasmic and not, per tradition, a showing of Sorcery in the Sky. This all may very well change as new crowd projections come in.

WDW Magic is reporting that the construction walls are down at Stitch's Supersonic Celebration. The attraction is expected to open May 6 with a decided lack of seats.

WDW Magic and All Ears Net are reporting that a new experience called "The Pirates League" will open in the gift shop adjactent to Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom. It will be similar to the "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique" but be geared towards boys. It is expected to open in late June.

WDW Magic is reporting that the characters from Disney's online MMORPG Club Penguin will be appearing at Hollywood Studios.

Jack Spence at All Ears Net is reporting that a number of "green" products have begun appearing around Walt Disney World. The products include organic cotton t-shirts, pencils made from recycled materials, and probably the coolest of the products: purses made from unused candy bar wrappers.

Figment at the Intercot discussion boards is reporting that the new version of the Magic Kingdom's "Celebrate a Dream Come True" parade will debut in early May. It is expected to now include Abu and Genie as well as some other changes.

WDW Magic is reporting that the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station is now closed and is not expected to open until late June. The fact that the restaurant was open in the first place is an accomplishment in and of itself so this news isn't much of a surprise to anyone.

WDW Magic spotted Katy Perry and Hayden Panettiere at Hollywood Studios over the weekend as part of this year's Grad Nite events.
