News From Around The World

It's looking like a wet Memorial Day weekend at Walt Disney World but thankfully it seems that the worst of the weather, which hit yesterday, has passed. Heavy rain and the threat of tornado closed Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Fantasia Gardens, and Winter Summerland yesterday.

Jack Spence at All Ears Net has a great look at the newly opened "Great Piggy Bank Adventure" at Innoventions.

The Orlando Sentinel has images of some of the new Star Wars Weekends merchandise including Donald Duck trapped in carbonite and a somewhat creepy Minnie Mouse in the Princess Leia bikini from Return of the Jedi. Friends has forever ruined that scene for me.

WDW Magic is reporting that Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests will be entitled to complimentary golf club rental with full price rounds at the Palm, Magnolia, Lake Buena Vista, or Ospery Ridge golf courses.

WDW Magic is reporting that the Backlot Express at Hollywood Studios now features self-service beverages. This is great news for those who hate ice and fans of refilling multiple times per meal. They are also reporting that honey mustard has returned to the condiment bar which is, of course, a load off the collective backs of all chicken finger fans at Walt Disney World.
